PartyBox 720: JBL’s Biggest Battery Speaker

JBL has announced the PartyBox 720, its largest battery-powered party speaker to date. The massive unit delivers 800W of power with two 9-inch woofers and a pair of 30mm dome tweeters, promising deep bass and crisp highs. Thanks to its replaceable battery, it can run for up to 15 hours per charge.

The PartyBox 720 also debuts JBL’s AI Sound Boost technology, designed to increase loudness while minimizing distortion. For gatherings, the speaker includes Auracast multi-speaker connectivity and USB-C support for direct audio streaming. A built-in light show system syncs with music for a visual element.

Intended for karaoke, DJs, and live sessions, it features two XLR inputs for microphones, guitars, or mixers. Priced at $1,099, the PartyBox 720 is slightly cheaper than Marshall’s $1,300 competitor. Pre-orders are open now, with shipments starting September 21.

Boombox 4: Portable and Durable

Alongside the PartyBox, JBL introduced the Boombox 4, a refined version of the Boombox 3. The speaker features the same AI Sound Boost technology, delivering higher volume and clearer sound. Weighing nearly two pounds less than its predecessor, it’s designed for portability and comes with IP68 water and dust resistance.

The Boombox 4 also supports Auracast connectivity and includes a replaceable battery capable of up to 28 hours of playtime. Available in three color options, the speaker is priced at $550. Pre-orders are live now, with shipping scheduled for September 28.

JBL’s Push Into Premium Audio

These launches highlight JBL’s strategy to dominate the party and portable speaker markets by combining high power, advanced sound processing, and durability. With the PartyBox 720 targeting large gatherings and the Boombox 4 offering on-the-go resilience, JBL continues to expand its premium lineup against rivals like Marshall and Sony.
