Poco is aiming to distinguish its latest smartphones in a competitive market through a new audio focused partnership with Bose. The company’s newly launched F8 Pro and F8 Ultra both feature stereo speakers co engineered with Bose, while the Ultra model adds an integrated subwoofer for improved bass performance. Alongside upgraded hardware, buyers also get custom sound profiles developed by Bose to elevate the listening experience.
Bose Tuned Speakers and Custom Sound Modes
Both F8 models come equipped with dual stereo speakers tuned by Bose engineers. The F8 Ultra goes further by including an additional subwoofer, something rarely seen in smartphones, designed to deliver deeper bass output. Users can also switch between two Bose crafted audio profiles: Dynamic, which enhances low end response, and Balanced, which focuses on vocals and an even soundstage.
Bose executive Nick Smith said the collaboration merges Bose’s acoustic engineering expertise with Poco’s device design, resulting in smartphone audio that aims to set a new benchmark in clarity and depth.
Specs and Features of the F8 Ultra and F8 Pro
Beyond audio upgrades, the F8 series targets the affordable flagship market with competitive specifications. The F8 Ultra features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a large 6.9 inch OLED display, and a triple 50 megapixel rear camera system. It also supports wireless charging and includes a battery exceeding 6,000mAh.
The F8 Pro adopts last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a smaller 6.59 inch screen, while offering reduced camera capabilities compared to the Ultra. Both models include IP68 water and dust resistance and large batteries intended to deliver extended runtime.
Pricing and Additional Product Launches
The Poco F8 Pro starts at $579, while the F8 Ultra begins at $729, with a $50 launch discount available for early buyers. Poco also unveiled two budget friendly tablets, the Pad X1 and Pad M1, each priced under $400. These tablets focus on entertainment features, including high resolution displays and Dolby Atmos speaker systems.
